Email management is a critical part of sales operations. Every email exchanged with a lead or client should ideally be logged in your CRM to maintain a full history of correspondence. But what happens when the “standard connector” isn’t available in your region?
That was the challenge a client brought to me recently.
The Challenge
- The client used Zoho Mail for communication.
- They wanted users to be prompted when sending/receiving an email – so the email could be linked to the correct Salesforce lead or contact.
- However, the official Zoho Mail–Salesforce connector isn’t available in the EU market.
The Solution
Instead of relying on unavailable tools, I designed a custom integration using Make.com (formerly Integromat) and Salesforce APIs.
Here’s what the automation does:
✅ When a user sends/receives an email in Zoho Mail, they’re prompted to decide whether to link it with Salesforce.
✅ If they choose to link, the system finds the correct lead/contact and attaches the email.
✅ If they choose not to, the email remains outside Salesforce.
✅ This ensures flexibility, accuracy, and a full correspondence history in Salesforce.
The Results
The client was extremely satisfied with the outcome. Here’s what they said:
“Subhash understood the challenge immediately and was quick to come up with the solution. When faced with a hurdle, he found his way around it promptly. Subhash also followed through as he initiated a call once the project was completed. Will recommend him for anyone looking for smooth automation.”
⭐ Final rating: 5.0 out of 5
Key Takeaway
Off-the-shelf connectors may not always be available, but with the right automation tools and custom workflows, you can still achieve seamless integrations that save time and improve accuracy.
If you’re in the EU (or anywhere else) and facing integration challenges between your apps and Salesforce, I’d be happy to help design a solution that fits your exact needs.
